HyWaves is proud to announce a major milestone in the development of our H2Top™ Power Management and Control Architecture reaching Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6+/7 following a successful real-world demonstration. This achievement marks a significant step towards market readiness, validating our system’s ability to deliver fully automated control of producing hydrogen directly from solar PV with the ability to add additional energy sources.
The H2Top system has completed it’s operational testing phase under real-world conditions. During these trials, the system operated across varying solar irradiance levels, maintaining the maximum hydrogen output from the solar PV. The advanced control algorithms seamlessly adapted to the natural fluctuating solar input. Across the TRL6+/7 validation testing , no system faults or operator interventions were recorded. This milestone has validated the HyWaves’ robust design and software architecture.
As part of our ongoing development, HyWaves will soon publish the results of an A/B test programme comparing the H2Top system’s performance against both a state-of-the-art DC/DC converter based system and the more conventional solar-to-AC grid-connected approach. The HyWaves system brings the benefit of significantly lower capital cost over any other power systems in the market with it’s class leading efficiency.
Reaching TRL 6+/7 brings the HyWaves H2Top system ready for a full commercial deployment. The performance results of the system will be released in November 2025.
